Case Study

While working in affiliation with the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, I did extensive graphic design and publishing work for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation up to 2008. One such piece of work was the monthly newspaper produced in my department. This periodical was, and is still called, the HowNiKan. This newspaper was produced for the purpose of disseminating information to CPN members and for promotional purposes to highlight all the events and service activities of the tribe.

The newspaper was produced using software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign and Quark and others. I did everything from layout construction, advertising design, front page design, photo spreads and anything else the paper needed. Once the layout is finalized, the newspaper is sent to the printing press. Once produced I coordinated the distribution of the HowNiKan to local outlets and to CPN members outside of the local area via US Postal Service.
